Lulu Military Dog - Briggs is in no condition to do any contractor showings, and the film doesn't hold back from showing the struggles associated with her TBI. Eventually, Briggs and Lulu come to terms with each other's struggles, and the end of the film is a life-and-death decision against the Ranger.
Back in the 1990s, "Dog" would become a summer blockbuster with Tom Cruise or Bruce Willis and a guaranteed commercial hit. Things have changed since then, and it will be interesting to find out if a comedy as well as tearful (but too excited for the whole family) will find an audience with a winter theatrical release in 2022.

Is Dog A True Story?
Channing Tatum is a big believer in channeling grief into art. In 2018, the Magic Mike star embarked on a journey one last time with his longtime canine pal, Lulu—a Catahoula bull mix that he shares with ex-wife, Jenna Dewan.

Diagnosed with cancer, Lulu is not long in the world and Tatum wants her to make every last moment with her account. "When I went on my last trip with my pup, [I had] that feeling, 'There's nothing I can do. There's nothing that can be done,'" she tells Yahoo Entertainment now.
"You just have to accept it and be grateful for the time you have and know that it wasn't meant to be this forever. I had to leave and he had to go somewhere else." (Watch our video interview above.) While he'll never forget Lulu, Tatum has welcomed two new dogs — both Dutch Shepards — into his life.
In 2020, she adopted Rooklin, whom she "co-parents" with her friend and trainer, Arin Babaian. And last summer, Cutie walked into the Tatum family just in time for Father's Day. "He stole my heart," the actor admits.
What Is The Inspiration Behind Dog?
Here's hoping the canine brothers get along on a long car ride. “Dog” is set for a theatrical release on February 18, 2022 only, and its box office performance will be a sure sign of whether people have decided that the COVID-19 omicron revolution has died down enough for them to feel safe in theaters.

"For me, it's comforting," he said. "Josh never had children. Sirius was his child. Handlers were the 'father' of these dogs. Having him there and knowing he was part of Josh helped me." "Dog" was inspired by the 2017 HBO documentary, "War Dog: A Soldier's Best Friend", which was produced by Tatum's longtime assistant, Brett Rodriguez.
"Magic Mike" screenwriter Reid Carolin co-wrote the script for "Dog" with Rodriguez and is directing the film with Tatum. The film they made makes it clear that it was a labor of love for the three men.
However, as time goes by, Lulu and Briggs form a beautiful bond and learn together to find happiness by letting go of past traumas. This film is fun for animal lovers and appeals to audiences of all ages.

I would tell Sirius I wish he could talk, so he could tell me about my son," he said. "But our city is amazing - there were hundreds of people waiting at the airport, and they took us home with them.
So the city has been very welcoming." But that last road trip with Lulu marked a new beginning for Tatum. The experience became a touchstone for the new drama, Dogs, her first leading role since Logan Lucky in 2017, and the first film she directed with

, and connected, all the way.. Although "Dog" isn't based on true events, it's clear Lulu Tatum's death inspired the film.According to Deadline, talks about the film and its production began in November 2019, nearly a year after Tatum lost Lulu.
Tatus will direct the film with Reid Carolin, the screenwriter behind "Magic Mike", "Magic Mike XXL", and "Magic Mike's Last Dance", which also starred Tatum. The film went into production in early 2020, with Tatum sharing the news via Twitter and paying tribute to Lulu.
The actor wrote in a heartfelt post, "A little over a year ago I came back from a road trip where I said goodbye to my best friend. Now I'm making a film inspired by it."
'Dog' beautifully explores the relationship between animals and humans, as well as the fact that four-legged creatures can feel all emotions just like us. Briggs' real bond experience and the bond he creates with Lulu keeps everyone hooked and wondering if the film is based on real events and people.
